Welcome to Our New Youth CoordinatorPaige Gelfer

Shalom everyone! My name is Paige (she/her), and I am so excited to be joining Beth David as the new Youth Program Coordinator! I grew up in Vancouver, BC, completed my undergraduate degree in history and Japanese studies at the University of Victoria, and am currently finishing up my Master of Information at the University of Toronto. Growing up I was involved with teaching at my synagogue’s Hebrew school, and was heavily involved in USY. I spent my summers attending camp at Camp Solomon Schechter in Washington State, both as a camper and as staff. I’ve worked with youth in a variety of capacities, including bike camp, my local JCC, and at the Greater Victoria Public Library. In my spare time I can be found riding my bike around the city, reading (historical fiction and fantasy are my favourite genres), and sampling all of the delicious food that Toronto has to offer. I can’t wait to get to know everyone this summer!

About Our Youth Programs

Youth of all ages have plenty of opportunities to meet, make new friends, and get involved at Beth David! We offer three distinct Shabbat programs on Saturday mornings, in addition to activities throughout the year for children and youth in elementary, middle, and high school. Programs include social action and volunteer opportunities, fun group outings, holiday and Judaic-themed activities, as well as Israel engagement programs, enhanced by our amazing Shinshinim.

Our aim is to provide opportunities for Jewish Youth to continue to strengthen their Jewish identities and connections. Beth David seeks to develop programs based on personality development, interests, and needs of Jewish youth as they relate to the principles of Conservative Judaism. Our goal is to provide fun, meaningful and affordable experiences that inspire a lasting connection to the Jewish people.

Check our Event Calendar on the top right of this page for upcoming Youth Programs!
