The mission of Beth David Women, affiliated with Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, is to strengthen and unite the women of the synagogue and support them in their efforts to understand and perpetuate Judaism in the home, the synagogue and the community at large and to reinforce their bond with Israel and with Jews worldwide.
Does Beth David Women Really Need Me?
ABSOLUTELY! BD Women wants and needs the support of all women of our Synagogue. Active and inactive members support BD Women with their dues contribution. By joining BD Women you are adding your voice to the over 70,000 women belonging to Women's League for Conservative Judaism! Feel free to attend as many or as few events as you choose. Judaica Shop
A beautiful store with everything you need for all of your holiday, Shabbat, daily needs and celebrations. Gift Registry for Baby, Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Weddings. The shop is open before programs, on various events, and by appointment with Marion Tully and/or Sybil Jackson. Call the Synagogue office for contact information.

Craft Night
On the third Tuesday of each month, our members, supervised by Noreen Kasman, knit and crochet blankets that are then distributed thru “Project Linus” to critically ill children in hospitals across Canada. Knitted hats and scarves are donated for the homeless. Synthetic yarns are always needed, as are donations to purchase more yarn.

From the President of Beth David Women
Beth David Women offers a variety of programs and activities in order to attract member’s interest including: social and educational programs, craft group, fashion show, Torah fund events and theatre outings. Our craft group knits and crochets items for “Project Linus”, servicing critically ill children in hospitals across Canada. Torah Fund events, including the annual “Torah Fund Pin” support the Jewish Theological Seminary, the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies and the Mathilde Schecter Residence Hall.
Beth David is also the home of a wonderful gift shop whose proceeds go to Beth David Women projects. Many Judaica items are available, including a gift registry.

Hanukkah Programme
Sweet Cheese Latkes-an Italian Tradition
Makes 18 silver dollar size latkes
You will need a Food Processor or a immersion stick blender. and a large skillet ( non stick is the best )
Ingredients
! cup whole milk ricotta cheese (Saputo brand is MK kosher)
3/4 cup all purpose flour
3 large eggs room temperature
1teaspoon kosher salt(less salty than tale salt)
!/2 teaspoon Baking powder
Non stick spray (like Pam)
Savory Cheese Latkes
1lb (454 grams) Pressed Farmers Cheese ( like Western brand)
7oz (200 grams) Feta cheese
3/4 cup flour
4 eggs
2T butter
5green onions
oil for frying
Instructions and ideas for unusual toppings for both the sweet and the savory will be given at the cooking Demo.
