Rosalie Mednick Nepom is a nurse gerontologist whose experience encompasses nursing supervision ,teaching and consulting on geriatric care and stress management. She has worked in the field of senior care since 1968. Her interest in writing about the community she grew up in began about 25 years ago when she realized that this was a very special childhood. It was also an important history of the Jewish people who immigrated to Canada. Thus began the beginning of the book "The Jewish Community of Rouyn Noranda.

Esther Korman Verred was born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. She received her B.A, from McGill University. She also has diplomas in Information Technology as well as Human Resources from Queen's University. In her pursuit of ongoing education, she also received diplomas in Adult Education and Teaching English as a Second Language from Seneca College. Esther worked at Bank of Montreal for over 25 years in the fields of Information Technology, Human Resources, and training. She also has taught English as a Second Language in Israel, Seneca College, and private language schools. She is currently retired and resides in Thornhill with her husband. In her spare time she enjoys reading and volunteering with animals.
