Beth David and JTS Honour Rabbi Philip Scheim

Beth David and JTS Honour Rabbi Philip Scheim

As you know, Rabbi Philip Scheim is retiring this year as Senior Rabbi of Beth David B'nai Israel Beth Am and has been appointed as Beth David’s first Rabbi Emeritus. Rabbi Scheim has devoted his career to Beth David, to the Toronto Jewish community, and to the Conservative movement worldwide. His insightful sermons, wise counsel, and spiritual leadership have been a source of strength and continuity for the Beth David community for 40 years.

Beth David and the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) would like to show our profound gratitude and deep appreciation to Rabbi Scheim in the following ways:

  1. By establishing the Rabbi Philip S. Scheim Jewish Education Fund at Beth David. All contributions to this endowment will support Jewish education programs at Beth David, which have been a passion and priority for Rabbi Scheim and for our Members throughout his tenure.
  1. By establishing the Rabbi Philip S. Scheim Scholarship Fund at JTS. Rabbi Scheim attributes his professional success to the high-caliber education that he received at JTS and acknowledges that this is where his passion for Judaism and the Jewish people was nurtured.

Please participate in honouring Rabbi Scheim by supporting either or both projects in any amount that is meaningful to you.
